Booking Procedure & Booking Conditions
All bookings should be made with us by telephone (01600 750465) or email (holidays@hollow-ash.co.uk). We will confirm availability and price. An invoice will be sent by email detailing payments due and by which dates. A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking and should be paid within seven days, and the remainder is payable one calendar month before the start of the holiday. If the booking is made less than one month from the start of the holiday then the full payment is due on booking, and should be paid within seven days. All money received will be acknowledged. Upon receipt of the deposit (or full payment) the booking will be confirmed by us emailing a letter with directions to Hollow Ash, check-in time and procedure and other details. We reserve the right to cancel a booking if the payments are not made within the stipulated time periods above. A contract is made between the client and us at the point when we confirm the booking. The client making the booking must be over 18.
Pricing policy and occupancy
Current prices per hut are displayed on the relevant page of our website. Each hut sleeps two. A babe-in arms can be accommodated although we do not provide a cot. We can provide a fireguard upon request. Prices are higher for weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) and high season (June, July and August). We offer a cumulative discount of 3% per night for holidays of 3 or more nights up to 7 nights.
Payment information
Payment may be made by cheque or by BACS. Details will we sent on booking.
Booking Amendments and Cancellation
If you need to amend your holiday dates, we are happy to do this up to one month before the commencement of your booked stay.
If for any reason you have to cancel your booking the following conditions apply:
- Up to one month before the commencement of your holiday you will forfeit your deposit. (If you have already paid in full the balance will be returned to you).
- If you cancel your holiday in the month before your arrival date, then unfortunately you will forfeit your full payment. Alternatively, you could send someone else in your place.
- If extreme weather or other circumstances prevent you from reaching us, taking or finishing your holiday, you will still be subject to the same cancellation terms and conditions as outlined above.
We strongly recommend that you take out holiday insurance to cover these and other eventualities.
Bonds
We do not operate a bond system for damage, extra cleaning, etc. as we find all our guests are careful and considerate, leaving the hut and its contents as they would like to find them. Of course accidents happen and we ask that any damage is reported as early as possible so that repairs or replacements can be made.
Arrival & departure times
You may check in from 4:00 pm and we ask that you vacate the hut by 11:00 am on the day of departure.
Linen & towels
Bed linen and towels are provided.
Pets
We love dogs but unfortunately have a dog who is very territorial and does not tolerate other animals so we cannot accept pets.
Mobile signal and wifi
Mobile signal varies between providers but is generally poor or non-existent. We do not provide wifi. We find that is how most guests prefer it. Nor is there a TV. However, we provide a small wind-up/solar radio.
Access
Both huts have steps up to the entrance but ‘Skirrid’ has a handrail. Access to the facilities is via grass paths, but ‘Skirrid’ is closer at 50 yards.
Keys
The key to the hut is your responsibility during your stay. Please leave it in the door on leaving.
Smoking
A non-smoking policy applies inside the huts.
Breach of contract
We pride ourselves on the friendly relations we have with our guests, and we have never had cause to complain. The following is included as a precautionary measure.
If there shall be a breach of any of these terms and conditions on the part of the Client, we, the Owners, reserve the right to re-enter the property and to forthwith terminate the holiday letting without prejudice to the other rights and remedies of the Owners. The validity, construction and performance of these terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the Client hereby submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
